What a good candidate submittal includes
A resume with two lines of email leaves the hiring manager to do the evaluation. A strong submittal ties the candidate to the role: why this person, what they’ve done that matters here, and the facts the client needs, like location, work authorization, compensation and availability.
Length should match the search. A contingent role may need a short summary. Executive search usually needs a fuller profile.
Why we don’t rewrite resumes with AI
Your name goes on what you send. An AI formatter can add a claim, drop a skill or leave stray text behind, and then you have to check every line. Submittal Studio only moves the candidate’s own words into your layout, and it counts them so you can see nothing was lost.
If you want help writing the pitch, copy our prompt into your own AI, then paste the result back. Claim check flags words and numbers that aren’t in the resume or your notes.
Check the privacy yourself
Wait until the page says it’s ready. Turn off Wi-Fi. Open a resume and export it. It still works, because the whole tool runs on your computer. Your firm kit stays in this browser, and candidate details clear when you close the tab.
When to reformat, and when to leave the resume alone
Some clients want the candidate’s own document. Others want every submittal to look the same, with contact details removed. Cover sheet mode handles the first case. Full submittal and blind profile handle the second.
What it can’t do
- Read scanned PDFs. Paste the text instead.
- Judge a candidate. It doesn’t score or rank anyone.
- Remove contact details from the original pages in Cover sheet mode.
- Catch every personal detail. Blind profiles hide the name and employers it can find, and a client may still recognize a career. Read the final document before you send it.
Submittal Studio FAQ
Is Submittal Studio really free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up, no card and no limit on how many submittals you make. Your own computer does the work, so each one costs us nothing.
Are resumes uploaded to Wavaron?
No. Files open inside your browser and never reach our server. Once the page says it’s ready, you can turn off Wi-Fi and it keeps working. Candidate details clear when you close the tab.
Does it use AI to rewrite resumes?
No. It moves the candidate’s own words into your layout. It won’t add skills, numbers or claims. Claim check flags words and numbers in your pitch that aren’t in the resume or your notes.
Can I use my agency’s Word template?
Yes. Upload a .docx and Submittal Studio keeps its header, footer and styles. The body, comments, old images and author details are removed. Macros aren’t allowed.
What if my client wants the original resume?
Use Cover sheet mode. It puts your branded pitch page in front of the original PDF pages. They keep their contact details, so use a full submittal or blind profile if you need those removed. Links and anything active in the original are taken out.
Can it read scanned PDFs?
Not yet. A scan is a picture with no text to read, so it tells you and asks you to paste the text or get the original file.
Does removing contact details leave anything hidden in the file?
No. The PDF or Word file is built new from your approved text, so removed details aren’t covered up, they’re gone. Always read the final document before you send it.
